Committed to effective and responsible environmental management

The environmental management system is our strategic lever for driving climate action from the operational core of production.

• 83% of workplaces with more than 500 employees are ISO 14001 certified.
• 81% of professionals work in ISO 14001 certified centres.

Our largest workplaces in Spain, Italy, Portugal, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, and Australia hold ISO 14001 environmental certification. This reflects our commitment to using resources efficiently and responsibly, as well as measuring and managing the environmental impact of the company’s decisions.

All manufacturing centres in Spain are ISO 14001 certified. This international standard specifies the requirements for an effective environmental management system (EMS), providing an operational tool to measure environmental objectives.

Committed to the circular economy and waste reduction

Our commitment is to incorporate circular economy principles into our operations. Our priorities are to promote the rational use of resources and to manage waste and end-of-life products responsibly.

As part of our good environmental management practices, we apply the 5Rs principle as the basis for minimising waste generation in all our operations:

• Reduce: we adopt efficiency practices that avoid the unnecessary use of materials and resources
• Reuse: we extend the useful life of products and materials whenever this is the efficient and responsible option
• Recycle: separating, sorting, and transforming waste to give it a new use is common practice in our facilities
• Recover: we harness the energy or functional value of certain waste, especially in production processes
• Refuse: we prioritise sustainable alternatives, avoiding the use of products with a high environmental impact when more responsible options exist

The most representative waste from our activity is retired electrical and electronic equipment, which is processed by authorised managers. All hazardous waste generated in our manufacturing centres is handled by authorised managers, ensuring traceability and safety, legal compliance, and both circularity and recovery of waste.

Since 2020 we have promoted the zero plastic initiative to gradually eliminate single-use plastics in all Indra Group offices.

Committed to including ecodesign criteria in all our new products

• 100% of design and product development engineers trained in ecodesign by 2025
• 100% of new HW products designed from 2026 onwards with ecodesign criteria

We are incorporating ecodesign into our engineering and technology processes. This will allow us to integrate sustainability criteria into the design and development of products.

In addition, under our 2024–2026 ESG Plan, we are working on a number of initiatives to help us achieve the inclusion of ecodesign in all new products:

• Incremental incorporation of ecodesign criteria for suppliers
• Adaptation of tools (Product Lifecycle Management) and procedures to ecodesign
• Training of engineering and development professionals in ecodesign
